Domaine La Croix de Brully Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune 2023
Their cultivation is organic, and the wines are aged for 12 to 20 months in oak barrels, depending on the terroir. La Croix values purity and freshness as well as fruit and structure — that is what the wines are all about.
The vines for the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune are located at the foot of the limestone cliff on the sunny slopes of the Saint-Aubin valley. They grow on south- and southeast-facing slopes at 290 to 485 metres above sea level, which is 100 to 200 metres higher than the Côte de Beaune.
This results in slightly later ripening, and the harvest takes place on average about a week later. The soil is composed of formations deposited 80 million years ago during the Triassic (sandstone and clay) and the Jurassic (marl and limestone).
Scallops, grilled prawns, risotto.
On the nose, a full bouquet with plenty of fresh fruit and hints of pepper.
On the palate, the wines are fresh and balanced, with juicy fruit supported by a subtle marly minerality, matchstick and electric tension. A saline finish with aromas of lemon, mandarin, and white-fleshed fruit.
