Representing the third generation of vintners in her family, Nicole “Nicky” Oatley launched the eponymous Nicole Oatley Wines label — known by its initialism NOW — in 2024. Beautifully curated to include standalone varieties of Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, the debut collection of limited-release wines draws upon the expertise of Larry Cherubino, Director of Winemaking at A.G. Oatley Wines, whose in-the-know reputation for sourcing the finest parcels of fruit led to the exploration of Western Australia’s historic grape-growing regions.
Presenting Chenin Blanc grown on the sandy soils of Swan Valley and Cabernet Franc harvested from vines thriving in the gravelly loam of Margaret River, the duo of wines has been crafted to reflect styles Nicky personally enjoys. Comprising a pair of new-wave varieties, they showcase the best of the west coast and collectively stamp an innovative mark on the country’s wine panorama.
Growing season conditions: Gentle cool summer, one of the best seasons in past 20 years.
Winemaking: Cultured yeast ferment in tank, held on light lees for twelve months for texture and integration.
